The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) is the nation's leading trade association representing investor owned monopoly utilities. While small nonprofits like ILSR advocate for local grid ownership, it is political giants like EEI that support that incumbent corporations that have monopolized the American electric grid. For decades, they have fought to stifle the clean energy transition, cover up climate science and even support their corporate giants by writing a playbook of their own for crushing public power.
